What is a league?

A league is a dedicated weekly game time that meets on the same day and time each week. Players pay a one-time registration fee that covers the entire season of league play.

Our leagues are social leagues, which means the focus is on community, fun, and improving your Mahjong skills while enjoying regular play with friends. Yes, we keep score and award points, but we also laugh a lot, celebrate wins together, and give away some pretty amazing prizes along the way.

Think of it as your standing Mahjong date—with a little friendly competition and a bam good time built in.

Can I join if I’m brand new?

Almost! We ask that league players have at least one Mahjong lesson before joining a league. The good news is that getting ready is easy. Start with a Mahjong 101 class, then consider a Coffee + Strategy session or Mahjong 102 to build confidence before league play begins.

Our leagues are designed to be welcoming and beginner-friendly, so don't wait until you feel like an expert. If you know the basics of the game, you're ready to join the fun.

What skill levels can join the league?

Our leagues are open to beginner and intermediate players. We simply ask that it is not your very first time playing Mahjong.

If you've completed a Mahjong 101 class and understand the basics of the game, you're ready for league play. Many players join a league to gain confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy a regular game with friends.

If enough advanced players register, we may offer an advanced division or advanced table during league play.

What are the league rules?

Great questions! Under the page League Deets! We have a page for each league with their rules.
